Clear glass candle holder, type 'Festivo'. Designed by Timo Sarpaneva for the Finnish Manufacturer Iittala between 1960 and 1970. It typifies the vogue for textured surface glass during this period. The surface was made using a charred wooden mould. The wide flattened conical base is echoed by the slightly narrow top. The candle holder has three rings. The candle holder is signed to the bottom and is one of Timo Sarpenaneva's most successful designs. Takes candles of with stem of approx 22 mm.
